Today is Confirmation Sunday - Those being confirmed are: Jackson Ashby, Andrew Caldemeyer, Jonathon Hicks, Kaitlyn Hicks, Daniel Mishler, Markus Peterson, Eli Reeves, Dylan West, Emma Willner. We will have a confirmation reception following worship today. Please join us after church to congratulate our confirmands.
The Confirmation Crosses are a gift from the Women’s Guild. Each confirmand is also receiving a corsage from the Women’s Guild Flower Fund.
Welcome To Communion - Regardless of church affiliation, we welcome all baptized Christians who have professed their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation to receive Holy Communion with us. Grape juice is found in the inner rings of the cup trays, wine is in the outer rings and grapes are for pre-confirmed young people.
Reminder that there is no Junior Church during the summer months (beginning June 2). The Nursery will still be open during the 10:00 service for children through kindergarten age. Junior Church will resume August 18.
There will be no Sunday School during the Memorial Day weekend (Sunday, May 26). Today is the last day of Sunday School till Rally Day.
Camp Salem - Please take note! There will not be Camp Salem offered this summer. The Board of Christian Education looks forward to seeing everyone for Sunday School Rally Day on August 18! Take the summer off and come excited and well rested to learn and have some fun!
Children kindergarten through second grade are invited to attend Jr. Church after the children’s sermon is completed. Please remember that younger children should be taken to the Nursery and not sent to the Jr. Church room. (Jr. Church and the Nursery services are available during the 10:00 a.m. service only)
Salem Church is collecting items for the Christian Life Center. Each month, we will feature one food item and/or one toiletry item to be collected. There are collection boxes in the narthex and at the entrance to the Fellowship Hall. The items for May are cold cereal and toilet paper.
Do you own your own company? or have a favorite one? - We want to hear from you! We want to list your company and others in our new church directory. Pick up a form today, in the back of the church on the table, to share the company’s information. Once you have completed the form, simply place it in Rick Johnson’s mailbox located in the hallway or drop it in the offering plate. Thank you. Middle Youth Swim Party - Save the date, Sunday, June 2 on your calendar, from 2 - 4 p.m. for our swim party at Ann and Charlie Farney’s home. Please bring a snack to share. (Please see Kristi Wilzbacher for directions.)
The Board of Christian Education will meet Saturday, June 8 at 4:30 p.m. to set-up for Vacation Bible School.
God’s Backyard Bible Camp *Under the Sun* VBS will be June 9 – 12.
Get ready for a sunny outdoor adventure that starts right in our own Salem backyard
and gets bigger each day as kids take the love of Jesus into their homes,
neighborhoods and communities!
All kids (ages preschool – 5th grade) are invited to attend. If you are bringing a young preschooler, we do ask that an adult stays to help out.
A light supper will be provided each night for those attending, starting at 5:30 p.m. VBS will be 6:15 – 8 p.m.
Please complete a registration form for each child and place it in the VBS mailbox located in the hall by the church office, or mail it in to the church office. There are forms located in the back of the church on the table or in the monthly church newsletter The Echo.
We really need our church family’s support by having teen and adult volunteers just to be there as extra sets of hands to help keep all of our little ones busy!
